Darya Filippenko is one of her generation’s brightest and highly demanded violists. She is an incredibly skilled performer with a unique artistic vision and impeccable taste.
Darya has won numerous international awards and prizes. As a soloist and in chamber ensembles, she performed in the most prestigious concert halls, including the Philharmonie Berlin, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Conservatory of Milan, the concert halls of the Moscow Philharmonic and the Moscow International House of Music, the State Chapel of St. Petersburg, and others. She frequently shares the stage with some of the best performers in the music world, such as Nikita Boriso-Glebsky, Gaik Kazazyan, Yury Bashmet, Danilo Rossi, Boris Andrianov, Kristina Blaumane, Guillaume Martigne, Boris Berezovsky, Polina Osetinskaya, Thorsten Johanns, Dmitriy Illarionov, and other outstanding musicians. Throughout the years, Darya has been closely collaborating with Yuri Bashmet, and this reflects in her sound and in her performance style.
Events of the 2024/25 season include her performance of Vladislav Zolotaryov’s premiere concert as part of the Pantonale Festival at the Philharmonie Berlin, her appearance in festivals such as “Artes Vertentes” in Brasil and Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival in Germany, her collaboration with thebaroque ensemble Academia Bizantina Orchestra, and many others.

Dárya Filippenko é uma das violistas mais brilhantes e requisitadas da sua geração. Ela é uma intérprete de habilidades raras, com uma visão artística única e gosto impecável.
Em 2006, Dárya foi laureada no XIII Concurso Internacional Johannes Brahms, na Áustria como integrante de um conjunto de câmara. Dois anos depois, em 2008, ganhou o primeiro prêmio do III Concurso Internacional de Grupos de Câmara em Chesapeake, EUA. A violista participou de festivais na Rússia, Bielorrússia, EUA, Alemanha, França, Itália, Suíça, Reino Unido e outros países antes mesmo de se formar no Conservatório Estatal de Moscou.
Darya recebeu a Bolsa Gaidamovich por “Realizações na Interpretação de Música de Câmara” da União Internacional de Músicos, bem como bolsa da Associação de Música de Câmara e o Prêmio Thomastik-Infeld da Academia Internacional de Verão na Áustria.
Darya Filippenko’s professional life doesn’t only consist of a busy concert schedule and performances at international festivals. She successfully releases music both on CDs and major streaming platforms. The violist has an extensive solo concert repertoire, and her wide range of performing skills includes both a commitment to baroque and classical traditions and intensive collaborations with living composers coming from a great variety of musical backgrounds. She frequently collaborates with outstanding authors like Harry Crowl, George Stevenson, Alexander Tchaikovsky, Kuzma Bodrov, Pavel Karmanov, and others. In January 2022, one of the most established Russian record labels Melodiya released a collection of works by Alexander Tchaikovsky featuring Darya’s performance, and in 2023 a CD of music for viola by Brazilian composer Harry Crowl was released.
Born in Minsk, Belarus, Darya Filippenko attended the Moscow State Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Galina Odinets. She later pursued a post-graduate degree at the same institution, mentored by Alexander Bonduryansky. Darya diligently refined her artistry under the expert tutelage of Antonello Farulli in Imola, Italy, while also delving into the intricacies of baroque viola with the esteemed guidance of Enrico Gatti in Bologna.
Darya plays the viola made by master Maria Strelnikova, created in 2009. In her hands, the instrument reveals its velvety timbre, rich sound palette, and wide dynamic range.
La vita professionale di Darya Filippenko non si ferma a un ricco programma di concerti e partecipazioni ai festival di tutto il mondo. La violista ha all’attivo varie pubblicazioni discografiche su CD e nelle principali piattaforme di streaming, oltre a un vasto repertorio solistico. Il suo ampio spettro di competenze esecutive include sia l’impegno verso la tradizione barocca e classica, sia le proficue collaborazioni con compositori viventi, provenienti da diversi contesti musicali.
Lavora spesso con autori come Harry Crowl, George Stevenson, Alexander Tchaikovsky, Kuzma Bodrov, Pavel Karmanov e altri. Nel gennaio 2022 Melodiya, una delle principali etichette discografiche russe, ha pubblicato una collezione di opere di Alexander Tchaikovsky interpretate da Darya, e nel 2023 è uscito un disco di musiche per viola del compositore brasiliano Harry Crowl.
Nata a Minsk, in Bielorussia, Darya Filippenko ha frequentato il Conservatorio Statale di Mosca sotto la guida della prof.ssa Galina Odinets. В составе камерного ансамбля — лауреат II премии и обладательница приза зрительских симпатий XIII Международного Конкурса имени И . Брамса (Австрия, 2006), обладательница Гран-при III Международного конкурса камерных ансамблей в городе Chesapeake (США, 2008).
Альтистка обладает обширным концертным репертуаром от произведений эпохи барокко до сочинений композиторов XXI века. Её приглашают к сотрудничеству такие выдающиеся авторы, как Александр Чайковский, Кузьма Бодров, Павел Карманов, Гарри Кроул, Джордж Стивенсон и другие.
В январе 2022 года одна из самых признанных звукозаписывающих компаний — фирма «Мелодия» — выпустила в свет коллекцию произведений А. Чайковского с участием Дарьи.
